On the way from Suchożebry to Kownaciska village we encounter the little chapel belonging to Rymuza family built in 1870. It has been newly renovated and it is the excellent example of sacral architecture. We shall not discuss whether it looks better now or whether it presented itself more handsome in its original form. What should be underlined is the strength of religious tradition within the society which lasts despite the course of time and ever changing world. It is of no importance if the chapel is situated in the courtyard of the townhouse in Warsaw, which protected its inhabitants during Warsaw uprising, or in the small village in remote Podlasie county . May I remind you that in one of my earlier posts I wrote about another chapel of St. John of Nepomuk from the XVIII century which is located on the other side of the same village.

W Kownaciskach od strony Suchożebrów, znajduje się kapliczka rodziny Rymuzów z 1870 roku. Ostatnio odremontowano ten mocno podupadły obiekt małej architektury sakralnej. Sprawą gustu jest, która wersja kapliczki bardziej nam się podoba. Nie ulega wątpliwości, że tradycja religijna w społeczeństwie przechodzi na następne pokolenia. Nieważne czy jest to kapliczka na podwórzu warszawskiej kamienicy, która strzegła mieszkańców w czasie Powstania Warszawskiego, czy jest to taka kapliczka we wsi, czy pośród podlaskich pól. Przypominam, że po drugiej stronie wioski znajduje się opisywany już wcześniej św. Nepomucen w kaplicy z XVIII wieku.
